In probably the most shocking and hypocritical example of judicial activism ever, the right wing of the Supreme Court in 2000 ordered Florida to stop the counting of ballots, since continued counting would "irreparably damage" George Bush's "probable" presidency. States' Rights?... hey, not if it means a Democrat in the White House. But why stop there? Surely Judge Scalia could pull some of his Opus Dei strings to elevate Dubya even higher.
